Julio César Rubio (June 5, 1999), film director and editor, born in Morelia, Michoacán.
In
Morelia, he trained as a musician from an early age and later became a
self-taught film editor. He has worked on projects such as the feature
film “Devil’s Pitch” (post-production) and the short film “Aguacuario”
(2024), which was presented at the 74th Berlin International Film
Festival.
In 2020, he entered the Film Training Center (CCC) in
Mexico City, where he is specializing in directing. There, he directed,
co-wrote, and edited the short film “5 STEPS (For a Farewell)” (2025),
which marks his debut at the 23th Morelia Film Festival.
He currently lives in Mexico City, working on short films, music videos, documentaries, and commercials.
